Jennifer's abstract oil on panel paintings are an exploration in the perception of color and the notion that it constantly shifts in relation to the color around it. She includes elements of both cartooning and prettiness, as well as areas of control that come from her interest in pigments and oil painting mediums. For example, layers of complex color glazes lay next to areas of quick gesture over color washes. Some of the paintings are earnest and concerned with formal beauty, while some are playfully comic and mock their own seriousness.
