Todd's sculptures are created from multiple pieces of metal that have each been forged and shaped to create intricate patterns inspired by nature.
One singular shape used repeatedly evolves into a system that references organic and biological origins. These arrangements can be traced to natural forms like fungus, hair or plants. Patterns and configurations in the sculptures shift between the micro and macro scale.
Installed in locations outdoors, the work is subtle and often mistaken for plant growths despite the weight and substance. In architectural spaces, it moves out of corners like an "other-world" fungus. The accumulation of these hand-made shapes metamorphoses the whole into something unique but familiar.
